Chapter 933: Inviting a Wolf Into the House
On the other side, Mrs. Grant took a taxi early in the morning to Knight Manor.
Susan Stone knew Mrs. Grant was coming, so she got up early to prepare baking ingredients.
Although Mrs. Grant said there was no need to prepare anything on her side, for the sake of Damian Knight’s cooperation in Rivain, Susan decided to lower herself and temporarily try to please the Grant Family.
It’s been many years since she last tried to please anyone, never thought she would have to bow and scrape before the Grant Family.
If she’d known things would develop to this point, she would never have contacted the Grant Family and arranged Willow Grant and Damian Knight’s marriage in the first place.
If she hadn’t been so obstinate, the Grant Family’s ambitions wouldn’t have swollen to what they are now.
"It’s all my fault, all my fault... Wasn’t playing mahjong better? Had to invite a wolf into the house!"
The butler, who had been involved all along, couldn’t help but comfort her upon seeing Susan like this: "Back then, you didn’t know the Grant Family harbored such ambitious intentions. They were so easygoing at the time, unlike now—one aggressive, another pretending to be understanding, one playing bad cop, another good cop, and Miss Grant in the middle only playing pitiful. If they had shown their true colors earlier, you surely wouldn’t have welcomed Miss Grant into the door."
"Welcome her into the door?" Susan snorted coldly, saying: "Before the Grant Family came, I indeed had great expectations for Willow Grant. But with this disruption, unless Damian’s cooperation goes smoothly, I certainly won’t bother with them anymore!"
After their visit, she could see their true nature clearly.
By comparison, although Summer Monroe doesn’t match Willow Grant in many ways, at least she is more sensible and obedient!
Just hope... that today’s grades don’t embarrass her too much.
Otherwise, that woman from the Grant Family will be full of sarcastic insinuations, saying she can’t tell treasure from trash.
Considering that Summer Monroe’s grades might be unsatisfactory, Susan began to regret agreeing with the Grant Family to go to Crestfall University.
Thinking of this, Susan clasped her hands together: "Heaven bless, bless Summer Monroe’s grades not to be at the bottom."
The butler beside her heard this and comforted: "Madam, don’t worry too much. The young lady that the young master likes shouldn’t be too bad, at least not the worst."
"That’s what you say, but... she came from the countryside, and you know the education level there. Alas... forget it, leave it to fate."
Just then, security came in to inform that Mrs. Grant had arrived.
"Got it." Susan forced herself to perk up and said, "Let her in."
Before long, Mrs. Grant arrived with baking materials.
Although she brought materials, it was just a little, clearly knowing that Susan’s side would prepare.
"Susan," Mrs. Grant said with a smile, "I’m really sorry to bother you so early. But I had no choice, I just learned that the goods brought are not for gifting, but for selling. The money from sales will be donated to charity by the school, so I plan to make at least two hundred portions, and I might need your help making them."
Having lived a life of comfort for so long, Susan forced a smile and nodded: "Sure, I’m quite interested in this too. Let’s start now."
"Alright, let’s start! The grades should be out by now, I wonder how many points Willow managed to score... but being first shouldn’t be a problem, the question is how far she is from full marks."
