Chapter 44 Madam, next time definitely
Chapter 44 Madam, next time definitely
Silinda is in a terrible mood today.
She hadn't received a single customer all morning.
This alley is their "workplace," and the rules are simple and brutal:
Customers come in, and if they like what they see, they pay the money, crawl into the tent behind them, and have sex.
But her drab tent hadn't been opened even once all day; the zipper was practically rusting.
She secretly kicked at the pebbles beside her feet, unable to help but grumble about her outfit: she really shouldn't have chosen this yellow lace set; it made her already not-so-fair skin look even yellower. She should have worn that red camisole; at least it would have been eye-catching and attracted more attention.
As the wind blew through the alley, a musty chill enveloped her, and she instinctively hugged her arms tighter, feeling even more unlucky.
Just then, a figure suddenly appeared at the alley entrance, making her eyes light up:
A man in a security guard uniform walked in. He had dark eyes and black hair, a tall and straight figure, and looked quite handsome.
Silinda quickly went through the list in her mind: he wasn't a homeless person from the neighborhood, and she had never seen this face before.
His security guard uniform was crisp and clean, a stark contrast to the dilapidated state of the alley.
But none of that matters.
Having frequented this alley for so long, she knew better than anyone else that there was no other reason why someone would willingly step into this place.
No matter who he is, as long as he's willing to pay, it's business delivered to his door.
She suppressed her irritation, and her smile became even more genuine.
Silinda quickly stepped forward, deliberately softening her voice, and said coquettishly, "Hi, handsome young man, my name is Silinda. Want to have some fun together?"
As she spoke, she deliberately spun around in place, trying her best to show off her figure; she was quite confident in her waist and hip curves.
"Since you're so handsome, how about I give you a 20% discount?"
Lin Ximeng gave a polite smile and took half a step back: "I'm sorry, ma'am, it's not a good time today. I'll make sure next time."
He abruptly changed the subject, stating his purpose directly: "I'm looking for someone, Latino, wearing red pants, who came in a little before me. Have you seen him?"
Before Silinda could respond, a tent about ten meters away was suddenly flung open with a "whoosh," and two figures emerged.
Lin Simon recognized at a glance that the man in red pants was the homeless man he was looking for.
The person next to the man in the red pants looked exactly the same, except he was wearing blue pants.
"Are they twins?" Lin Ximeng wondered to himself.
The two men were each holding an iron rod, clearly indicating that they had no intention of returning the supplies.
"Very good, very courageous, but could you two please stop your hands from shaking so obviously?"
The iron rod was swinging back and forth in his hand; anyone who didn't know better would think he was dancing.
Lin Ximeng noticed their panic and decided to scare them first.
He placed his hand clearly and obviously on his lower back.
That's a high-current stun gun on the security guard's equipment.
"Have you thought it through?" Lin Ximeng asked deliberately, lowering his voice. "I brought my weapons with me."
Upon hearing this, the legs of the two brothers in red and blue pants immediately began to tremble, with the one in blue pants even breaking into a sob: "Big brother, what do we do? He seems to have a gun."
"What are you afraid of?" Red Pants was also panicking, stammering as he spoke, but still trying to appear tough: "I know people from Black Penguin, I know boxer Brock, he's not someone to mess with. If you don't want trouble, you'd better leave now."
"What's all the noise outside? I finally managed to get it up!"
An impatient grumble came from nearby, and another tent was suddenly flung open, revealing a homeless man with a small mustache.
"Why?"
The bearded homeless man looked up and suddenly saw Simon Lin.
His eyes widened in surprise. "Mr. Horus? What brings you here?"
"Who are you?"
"Assam, you sent me a jar yesterday."
After a moment's thought, Lin Ximeng remembered: "The person from Rusty Street yesterday?"
Lin Ximeng then remembered that this bearded homeless man was the first homeless man to ask his name.
He gestured with his chin toward the two men: "I'm here to see these two in red and blue pants."
Assam immediately frowned, turned to glare at the brothers in red and blue pants, and asked in a deep voice, "What trouble have you two gotten into this time?"
Red Pants swallowed hard, but still stubbornly insisted, "Brother Assam, it doesn't matter if this guy is your friend, I'm taking this box of yogurt! I'll get Mr. Brock, the boxer, to help me."
"Idiot!"
Assam rolled his eyes and retorted without hesitation, "Still in Brock? He was beaten to a pulp by Mr. Horus yesterday."
Upon hearing this, the two brothers in red and blue pants were instantly stunned.
The boy in blue pants trembled even more violently, tugging at the boy in red pants and sobbing, "Brother, what do we do? We can't even beat Brock, he's definitely stronger!"
"How...how would I know..." The man in red pants was completely flustered.
He had seen Brock in action before; one punch from him was enough to knock him down. If this guy could beat Brock, he could probably beat him to pieces.
Seeing this, Lin Ximeng laughed and said in a relaxed tone, "Don't panic, just return that box of yogurt. I'm not interested in beating you up."
The man in red pants immediately dropped the iron rod and, together with the man in blue pants, hurriedly brought out the yogurt container, saying ingratiatingly, "It's all here; we haven't had a chance to eat it yet."
Lin Ximeng glanced at their empty stomachs and asked, "Are you two brothers hungry?"
The man in red pants instinctively wanted to nod, but then suddenly stopped, pursing his lips nervously and not daring to move.
The boy in blue pants didn't seem to care much, nodding his head vigorously.
Seeing this, Simon Lin smiled and changed the subject: "I have a question for you. Do you know a black man named Jason?"
Jason was the name of the missing black man that Lin Simon had found through the detailed information in the [Daily Intelligence] system.
"If you have any news about him, I can treat you to a feast."
......
After a while, Lin Simon finished asking Hua about the flowers and then led the brothers in red and blue pants toward the shelter's supply distribution point.
When I returned to the street, order had been restored, and staff were preparing to resume distributing the aid.
Simon pointed to Martha's table and instructed the two, "Take the yogurt back and apologize to this beautiful lady."
The man in red and blue pants didn't dare to be negligent. He quickly carried the box back to its original position, lowered his head, and whispered, "I'm sorry."
Martha glanced at them but didn't mind. She then turned to Emily and whispered teasingly, "Now I understand why you took his clothes off this morning."
Emily's cheeks flushed instantly, and she retorted helplessly, "I already said, it's not like that."
At that moment, a short-haired white woman stumbled over and rushed straight to the shelter supervisor, grabbing his arm tightly with both hands.
Her hair was disheveled, her eyes were red-rimmed, and her face was streaked with tears.
She pleaded, "Please help me! My boyfriend, Jason, has been missing for days."
