The results for Chapter 19 are out.
This is Lu Jie's first formal exam since his rebirth, and also the first test of his recent learning achievements.
The exams lasted three days: Chinese, Math, and English on the first day; Physics, Chemistry, and Biology on the second day; and Politics, History, and Geography on the third day.
Each exam lasts 90 minutes. In the morning, the exams start at 8:00 AM and continue until 11:30 AM. In the afternoon, the exams start at 2:30 PM and continue until 4:00 PM. After the exams, students are dismissed, which is quite rare for high school students to be dismissed early.
On Sunday, after finishing his last history exam and handing in his paper, Lu Jie felt much more relaxed.
Of the nine subjects, except for English, the other exams went better than expected. I was confident I could answer more questions correctly than I anticipated.
He can answer most of the chemistry and biology questions except for the last one. He is confident that he can score above 90 if he doesn't make too many careless mistakes.
He's a little weak in physics, but this physics exam was significantly more difficult than the last monthly exam, so he's unsure how many points he'll get.
However, after talking with students who did well in physics, there was a consensus that the exam was very difficult, and if they weren't all in Versailles, their scores would likely not have been high.
The political, historical, and geographical questions were better than expected. Repeated practice questions were effective for multiple-choice and fill-in-the-blank questions; I could answer most of them.
My performance on the longer questions was a bit weaker, but after memorizing the key points, I was able to write something.
He felt that his knowledge of politics, history, and geography was not up to par with that of physics, chemistry, and biology, but he could still accept it.
I did well in math as usual, except for the last big problem which I couldn't solve, but I had ideas for the others.
There's not much to say about the Chinese language section. I've memorized all the classical poems I was supposed to and written them down. My reading comprehension was as expected.
The essay went better than he had imagined. He used to find writing 800-word essays painful, but with his experience of writing millions of words in his previous life, he felt that 800 words were not enough to express himself. With careful word choice, the overall impression was quite concise.
I guessed on all the English questions as usual, and how many points I get in the end depends on luck.
Overall, he felt he performed well and believed he had gained something from his efforts.
It is said that learning is the simplest and fairest thing, because you will definitely reap what you sow.
He didn't really understand these words when he was in school in his previous life, but he truly grasped their meaning after he started working.
What you gain from learning will always belong to you, while what you put into work may become someone else's gain, or it may become a burden.
He had a feeling that this progress might be even better than he had anticipated.
Maybe I can get an award for outstanding improvement?
When I show my report card and certificates to my mother, she will be very happy.
With this thought in mind, he was already looking forward to the announcement of the results.
He even felt a little excited at the thought of the moment the results were announced.
Of course, this sense of anticipation stems from having certain expectations about the results. If it were in his previous life, he wouldn't even want to know the exam results, let alone have any expectations.
Because after the exam results are released, he will have to go back and get a scolding from his mother.
Monthly exams are fine, and mothers don't pay much attention to them. But for midterms and finals, mothers will definitely ask about the grades.
The school also requires students to sign their transcripts at home.
"Going online? Naruto has updated again." After finishing his exams, Sun Bo wanted to go to an internet cafe.
"I'm a little sleepy and want to go back and get some sleep." Lu Jie thought for a moment and shook his head.
It would be nice to accompany Sun Bo to an internet cafe to relax; he hasn't been to one in a long time, so it would be a good opportunity to reminisce.
But then I realized there's not much to do at an internet cafe anyway.
In his past life, if he went to an internet cafe at this time, he would be watching Naruto, browsing blogs by people like Han Han, and playing some games.
He's read both Naruto and Han Han's essays, but they're nothing new.
Having played games like Black Myth: Wukong, Genshin Impact, and Honor of Kings, he has absolutely no interest in current games.
It would be better to go home, get some sleep, and then write some more drafts.
"Then I won't go either." After hesitating for a while, Sun Bo decided to go home and sleep.
Sun Bo's reaction surprised Lu Jie:
"Actually, you can go."
"If I don't stay overnight and just go home after watching Naruto, it won't take up much time."
Sun Bo was somewhat disinterested:
"Forget it, I'll watch Naruto later after I've accumulated more episodes."
"Suddenly, I feel like going to an internet cafe doesn't really make sense."
Lu Jie nodded silently.
Most students who are addicted to the internet and games do so because they can't find anything to do or they don't feel a sense of accomplishment in anything they do.
Once you find something you're interested in, like playing soccer or other sports, or you get positive feedback from learning, you'll gradually stop being addicted to games.
In his previous life, after graduating from high school, he gained a sense of accomplishment in doing business and pursuing his hobbies. For a while, he became more and more enthusiastic about these pursuits and lost interest in going online.
I didn't even follow the updates of "Naruto" until I found out it was over, and then I watched it all at once.
Sun Bo's current situation is a good example of this.
After returning home and having dinner, Lu Jie went to bed and slept until nine o'clock the next morning.
This was the most comfortable and peaceful sleep he had ever had since his rebirth.
After the midterm exams, the school gave us two days off.
He plans to take a break from his studies these next couple of days and give his nerves, which have been under a lot of tension, a rest.
Write some words, take a nap, and go for a stroll.
Before turning on his computer to start writing, he first logged into the Qidian Writer Backend.
Yesterday was also the first day of being featured, so I took the opportunity to see how the feature performed.
[Collection count: 1132]
He remembered that before being recommended, he had just broken through 300 favorites. On Sunday, plus the ten hours in the morning, he gained a total of 800 favorites.
If this data is from fan fiction, it can only be described as barely acceptable; if it holds up, it can advance to the next round of recommendations.
But for original articles, it should be quite good.
Especially since the current traffic to Qidian is much smaller than when he wrote books in his previous life.
That met his expectations.
Upon logging into QQ, a series of beeping sounds immediately followed. Sprite, the editor, sent him several messages:
Sunday 12 PM: [The recommendation is working well, keep updating steadily, and absolutely do not stop updating!]
Sunday at midnight: [Congratulations! Your book's data is far ahead of the second place. Keep updating regularly and maintain quality; you'll have a chance to get a homepage recommendation next week!]
Monday 9 AM: [Keep updating! Contact me immediately if you encounter any problems, and I'll help you solve them.]
This editor is really good.
After secretly praising him, Lu Jie politely replied: "Thank you, Xue Da. I will definitely keep updating regularly."
On the other side, having just finished a meeting, Sprite, who had made a great impression at the meeting because of the excellent performance of "Battle Through the Heavens," saw Lu Jie's message and replied with a smiley face.
Then, I went back to the library to look for new books.
......
While writing until noon, Lu Jie received a call from Zhong Muqing:
"Are you busy this afternoon?"
He thought Zhong Muqing had invited him out, and was just about to politely decline so he could use the afternoon to work on his drafts, when he heard her continue:
"Only the politics exam paper for the last midterm exam hasn't been graded yet; the scores for the other subjects have already been released."
"Should we find out how the exam went beforehand?"
