Chapter 699: Unforgettable Night [Part 2]

Lavinia breathed softly as she rested her head on Alex’s chest.

His heartbeat was still racing from their intense activity. But now that their lovemaking was over, his heartbeat gradually slowed to normal.

She was tired, pleasantly so, as she basked in the afterglow of their passionate moment together.

Since it was her first time, Alex didn’t push her too hard.

They only did it twice. However, that was enough for Lavinia to feel the kind of intimacy that was only felt by those who crossed that final barrier, cementing their relationship with each other.

The young lady’s own heart slowly calmed down while listening to Alex’s heartbeat. She didn’t want to admit it, but... it felt incredibly good.

After remembering the way she acted earlier, when Alex asked her to stop covering her lips with her hand because he wanted to hear her moan, her face once again turned beet red.

’Still, it felt good,’ Lavinia thought. ’I might become addicted to this.’

If Alex only knew what his lover was thinking, he might feel so smug as to make love to her a third time.

Fortunately, he couldn’t read minds, so he and little Alex calmed down for a bit.

The lovers quietly enjoyed the softness and warmth of their bodies pressing against each other until they soon fell asleep.

Both knew that tomorrow, a new morning would greet them once more, continuing the story of their love for each other.

Latifa, Lotte, and Lumi were blushing so hard that Lulu couldn’t help but giggle.

In front of them was a projection of Alex’s room.

Lulu had used her powers to peek—errr, observe Alex and Lavinia’s memorable night for future references.

At first, she was the only one watching. However, Latifa and Lotte discovered what she was doing.

Latifa wanted to tell Lulu to stop it at first. But when she saw how Alex was kissing Lavinia so tenderly, the words she wanted to say vanished from her lips.

Lotte was very curious, so she didn’t say anything and only quietly watched from the other side.

As for Lumi, she was blushing so hard, which was out of character.

It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that between the fox ladies, Lumi was the second to fall to Alex’s charms.

She had been very conscious of him ever since he and Latifa finished the trial together, continuing a story that had been lost in the past.

All of them had shown Alex their own version of love and affection.

But the act of love making was still completely new to them.

Although they knew it was wrong to watch Alex and Lavinia’s intimate moment supposedly meant only for the two of them, they still couldn’t stop themselves from watching it until the end.

The perpetrator, Lulu, smiled evilly while saying "just as planned!" internally.

Truth be told, she found the progression of Latifa and Alex’s relationship too slow, so she schemed to speed things up a bit.

If not for the fact that Latifa would start throwing hands if Lulu cut in line and pinned Alex down on the bed, she might have already done it a long time ago.

However, for the sake of everyone’s happiness, she decided to be patient. Of course, that didn’t mean doing nothing. She just sped things up!

"How nice," Lulu said when the two finally fell asleep. "Alex treasures Lavinia so much that I feel envious of her."

Lumi didn’t say anything, but she shared Lulu’s opinion.

As for Latifa and Lotte, both of them were still blushing so hard like the innocent maidens that they were.

"You know, even without Mother’s permission, some things are worth taking a risk, right?" Lulu said.

Latifa almost said yes, but she managed to catch herself before speaking it out loud.

Instead, she changed the topic of the discussion.

"There’s no need to worry," Latifa replied. "Alex will win the Singing King Tournament and gain Mother’s acknowledgement. She will not be able to back down once that happens and will give us her blessing."

"And what makes you so sure that Alex will win?" Lulu arched an eyebrow. "What if he didn’t win? What will you do then? Cry?"

"He will win," Latifa stated as if her boyfriend’s victory was already in the bag. "He has to win."

Yes.

He had to win.

Any other contestants from Frieden Academy could lose but not him.

Not Alex.

After all, Latifa’s happiness was on the line.

"Latifa, I didn’t want to say this, but do you think Mother will allow Alex to win so easily?" Lulu said in a serious tone. "You can feel it too, right? She’s near the city.

"Perhaps she’s hiding in the forest near the outskirts of Everdawn. You can’t be sure that she won’t just sit by and let Alex win the tournament so easily."

"Do you mean she’s going to sabotage Alex?" Latifa’s expression turned grim because if it was her mother, this kind of trick was not beneath her.

"The possibility exists," Lulu replied. "So we must not let our guard down until the Inter-Academy Tournament has safely concluded. Who knows what kind of tricks she has up her sleeve? Don’t forget she can change faces at will.

"It will not be too difficult to sabotage Alex if she copies our forms and secretly knocks him unconscious during the tournament."

Latifa, Lotte, and Lumi all looked indignant after hearing this possibility.

"We can’t let this happen," Latifa stated. "Lotte, Lumi, Lulu, the three of you find Mother. Do not approach her. Just try to track her current lodging."

"Finding her will be hard." Lotte shook her head. "If Mother doesn’t want to be found, we will not find her even if we scour the entirety of the Kingdom of Faelarun."

"Then what should we do?" Latifa asked anxiously.

The three fox ladies then shifted their attention to Lulu. Among the four of them, the mature version of Latifa seemed to be the most experienced.

"There is only one thing we can do, and that is to keep watch over Alex," Lulu stated. "He is Mother’s target, so she’ll eventually try to get close to him before or during the tournament."

Latifa clenched her fists tightly. In order to fight for her happiness, she had to protect Alex at all costs.

Even if the one she had to fight against was her mother, whose powers far surpassed her own.
